Phoenix Home Care ("the app") helps you look after your homes, vehicles, yard, plants and household paperwork. In short: we don't collect your data, see it or sell it. It lives on your iPhone and, if you turn it on, in your own private iCloud account.
Your private documents stay on your iPhone
Photos of your driver's license, passport, ID cards and other private documents, and their document numbers, are kept only on your iPhone, inside the app, in storage that is encrypted whenever your phone is locked.
- They are never uploaded to iCloud sync.
- They are never shared with family members or anyone you share a home with.
- They are never put into any PDF or report the app makes (Home Report, Sale Report, house sitter sheet).
- Viewing them requires Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode (on by default).
- The only copy outside the app is your iPhone's own device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), if you use one, the same as every other app on your phone. That backup is controlled by you and Apple; we can't access it.
What does sync for a document (if you use iCloud sync or share the home) is its type, title, whose it is, its expiry date and renewal cycle, where you keep it (for example "Fire safe"), your note and its reminder settings. The document number and photos do not.
What the app stores, and where
On your iPhone, in the app's private storage:
- Homes, rooms, items (appliances, systems, electronics and more) with brand, model, serial, purchase and warranty details
- Maintenance tasks, reminders and history, including notes and costs
- Vehicles and mileage, chores, yard and plant care
- Subscriptions and renewals, service contacts, utility shut-offs and paint colors
- Safety items (alarms, extinguishers, kits) and documents
- Photos, receipts, home inventory photos and walk-through videos, and the home's street address
- Your settings
iCloud sync and sharing (optional)
With Pro, if you turn on iCloud sync, the app syncs your homes, items, tasks and history between your own devices using Apple's CloudKit, stored in your private iCloud account. Homes someone shares with you work on Free too. If you choose to share a home with someone, the shared records for that home are visible to the people you invite. We have no access to your iCloud data.
These never leave your iPhone through sync or sharing: document photos and numbers, attached photos and receipts, home inventory photos and videos, the home photo, and the home's street address.
Label scanning, camera and photos
The camera is used only when you choose to scan a label or take a photo. Label text is read on your device with Apple's Vision framework; the photo isn't sent anywhere. Picking a photo or video uses Apple's picker, which gives the app only what you choose.
Weather alerts
To warn you about hard freezes, heavy rain and extreme heat, the app looks up the approximate location of each home's ZIP code with Apple's geocoding service and asks Apple WeatherKit for the forecast at that point. Only the ZIP-level location is sent to Apple; your address isn't. The app doesn't use your iPhone's GPS location. You can turn weather alerts off in the app.
Recall alerts (Pro)
To check for recalls, the app asks the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's public recall service (saferproducts.gov) for recalls by the brand names of your items, at most once a week. Only the brand name is sent, with no serial numbers, addresses or other personal details, and nothing that identifies you. Matching against your models happens on your iPhone.
Notifications
Reminders and weather alerts are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone.
Reports, exports and sharing
PDFs (Home Report, Sale Report and house sitter sheet, all Pro), backups and exports are created on your iPhone and go only where you send them with Apple's share sheet. Private document photos and numbers are never included.
Feedback
Send Feedback opens your own email app with a message addressed to us. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
Web links
Links to manufacturer guides and other websites open in Safari and are covered by those websites' own policies.
Purchases
Phoenix Home Care Pro is offered as a monthly ($2.99) or yearly ($19.99) subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase ($39.99), all handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, name or Apple Account.
No tracking, analytics or ads
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. The app doesn't use the advertising identifier. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports; that's controlled by you and Apple.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Deleting your data
Delete an item, home or document in the app to remove it. Deleting the app removes the data on your iPhone. To remove synced data, go to iPhone Settings > your name > iCloud > Manage Storage (or Apps Using iCloud) > Phoenix Home Care.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date.
